Illinois lawmaker reintroduces online casino bill for 2026 session

Regulation

Illinois state representative Edgar Gonzalez Jr. refiled the Internet Gaming Act for the 2026 legislative session. House Bill 4797 would permit licensed operators to offer online casino games, subject to a 25% tax on adjusted gross gaming revenue; the proposal did not leave committee last year.

Operators would face a proposed 25% tax and limits of three online brands per casino or racetrack license holder.
