IBJR seeks to join Brazil Supreme Court betting hearing
The Brazilian Institute for Responsible Gaming (IBJR) applied to Justice Luiz Fux on 3 February to participate in a Supreme Federal Court conciliation hearing on betting regulation. The 10 February hearing was cancelled by Fux on 2 February because of a scheduling conflict, and the application awaits a new hearing date; restrictions on closing existing accounts of Bolsa Familia and BPC beneficiaries remain suspended, while new registrations remain barred.
The court's account restrictions affect operators serving Brazilian betting customers who receive social benefits.
