Brazil’s IBGE included sports betting expenditure in its 2024/2025 Household Budget Survey, according to the report. The survey informs the weighting of products and services in the IPCA consumer price index and supplies household-consumption data used in GDP calculations.

PlayUSA reported, that an FGS Global survey found 13% of sports fans used prediction markets. Among 2,030 respondents, 81% supported regulatory measures for both sportsbooks and prediction platforms.
A Morning Consult survey commissioned by Gambling Is Not Investing found that 81% of 15,029 US adults surveyed from 17 to 22 March viewed trading on sports outcomes through prediction markets as betting. The April survey questioned 1,000 US investors across four generations. It also found that 26% of Gen Z investors considered sports betting part of their long-term financial strategy.
Italy’s draft 2027 budget proposes extending sports betting concessions until 31 December 2029. The proposed annual fees are €14,250 for each principal betting outlet right and €8,550 for each ancillary outlet right, payable in two instalments; the technical report estimates annual revenue of €114.5m from the physical network.
Italy’s Chamber of Deputies Budget Committee opposed an amendment proposing a 21% tax rate on fixed-odds retail sports bets and 25% on online bets. The proposal would have allocated at least €13 million a year to women’s football and measures against gambling addiction; the government undersecretary and committee said the costs lacked adequate quantification and funding.
