IAP plans binding rules for responsible-gambling communications in Italy

Regulation

Italy's Institute of Advertising Self-Regulation plans to add specific responsible-gambling communication rules to its code, IAP secretary-general Vincenzo Guggino announced at the FAIR Forum in Rome. The proposed rules would make existing guidance operational and allow IAP to support campaign development and act against messages that breach its standards; IAP also intends to pursue digital-gambling and influencer-marketing agreements with AGCOM.

Operators and suppliers may face binding self-regulatory standards for responsible-gambling campaigns and digital communications.

He said he had hoped to bring a ready resolution to the forum but that the signature process was still under way, and that publication of the text was expected in the coming days.
