House of Lords committee questions gambling industry self-regulation on advertising
The House of Lords Liaison Committee heard evidence on gambling advertising on 17 June as part of its review of the industry’s social and economic impact. Campaigners, industry representatives and regulatory figures addressed digital marketing, illegal gambling and the limits of existing reforms. The inquiry follows a 2020 Lords committee report that made 66 recommendations to government.
The committee’s scrutiny may inform future policy on gambling advertising and digital marketing.
