Google has added real-money prediction-market extensions to the products barred from the Chrome Web Store, according to the report. The change takes effect on 1 August 2026, after which violating extensions may face enforcement measures, including removal.
Developers offering prediction-market access through Chrome extensions may have to change or remove products that enable real-money transactions.

Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs signed an executive order barring state executive branch employees from using or disclosing non-public government information to profit from prediction markets. Violations may lead to dismissal, other sanctions or referral to law enforcement; the order also encourages other state branches and bodies to adopt comparable policies.
It was reported that a BadCredit.org survey found more than half of respondents had traded on prediction markets using borrowed money. The survey covered 1,000 US adults actively trading on those platforms.
