Global Starnet executive says 662 Italian municipalities lost legal retail gambling access
Yessica Rada, compliance representative at Global Starnet, said 662 Italian municipalities had lost access to the legal land-based gambling network between 2018 and 2025. Speaking at the 2026 Acadi Forum, she argued that opening-hour and distance restrictions affect gaming machines without effectively preventing problem gambling. Admiral Gaming Network’s Elisabetta Gregni said territorial rules had reduced the scope for new physical gambling venues by 99%.
The reported decline in municipal access and venue openings informs debate over territorial rules for land-based gambling.
