Gespa reports underage test participants placed bets in nearly half of checks

Regulation

Source: Gespa (Switzerland)

Gespa said underage participants placed sports bets in almost half of 200 test purchases at Loterie Romande and Swisslos outlets in Switzerland. The regulator said lottery companies must apply existing youth-protection rules consistently and that it will organise further test purchases; it also said a legally binding decision confirmed its authority to publish the report.

Lottery operators face scrutiny over age checks at retail sports-betting outlets, with further testing planned.
