Uganda's National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB) has published a public notice stating that Bet1Cent will end its general betting operations in Uganda on 31 December 2026. According to the Board, Geefy Entertainment SMC Limited, Bet1Cent's parent company, formally notified it of the decision to exit the market.

The notice was issued under Section 4(j) of the Lotteries and Gaming Act, Cap. 334, which the Board said gives it responsibility for market governance, legal compliance and public protection in the gaming sector. The Board published the directive on Thursday, 29 October 2026.

The notice asks people who have money or unsettled business tied to the company to complete every transaction before the deadline. It names holders of open betting accounts and outstanding tickets among those affected. Cashing out balances, resolving claims and bringing accounts into order are all part of the exercise, the Board said.

The Board said anyone needing assistance or wishing to raise an unresolved concern can contact it by email or call its helpline on 0800 285 800. The notice was issued to give bettors, business partners and industry stakeholders structured notice of the company's commercial exit.
