At SiGMA Central Europe in Rome, ADM remote-gambling director Antonio Giuliani said regulated gambling’s credibility depends on clear rules, player protection and responsible commercial conduct. He said the provisions in Italy’s 25 March 2024 remote-gambling reform need to be implemented by concessionaires, including measures that strengthen system security and player controls.
Italy's remote gambling reform will bring technical rules and tools that should significantly strengthen concessionaires' ability to keep the system secure and widen the checks available to players, Antonio Giuliani, who directs remote gambling at the customs and monopolies agency ADM, told SiGMA Central Europe in Rome. The measures cannot remain formal provisions only; operators have to implement and apply them in practice. For Giuliani, the sustainability of public gambling should be judged above all on credibility, the ability to protect players and compliance with the rules.
