The public consultation on Galicia's new General Gambling Regulation has closed with 31 submissions, according to a report dated 3 November 2026. The region's Technical General Secretariat and Treasury is grouping and analysing the suggestions it received.

The next step is an assessment report on the submissions. The report is to explain which submissions are incorporated into the text and which are rejected. Once drawn up, it is to be available in the project's history on the Galicia Transparency Portal.

After that, the revised text must be sent to the Consultative Council of Galicia, which will issue a legal opinion. The final step falls to the Consello de la Xunta. Once the decree is approved, it is to be published in full in the Diario Oficial de Galicia (DOG).

Under the current draft, the regulation would enter into force 20 days after publication. The draft would also give operators a three-month period to adapt their premises and systems to the new provisions.
