Four Polish gambling associations oppose proposed EU levy without shared rules

Regulation

Four Polish gambling-industry associations urged the Warsaw government to oppose a proposed EU gambling levy unless it is paired with regulatory reform and common action against illegal operators. They cited industry estimates that unauthorised operators account for about 20% of Poland’s online betting and 40% of online casino, and called for more uniform market conditions and consumer protections.

A further levy on regulated operators could widen the cost gap with unauthorised competitors, according to the associations.
