Fondazione FAIR has appointed Stefano De Vita as director general, the foundation said. He will coordinate its activities and contribute to research and responsible gambling initiatives; he previously held research, data analysis and responsible gambling roles at Sisal.
The appointment puts a new director in charge of coordinating the foundation’s research and responsible gambling work.

Fondazione FAIR launched its 2026 research programme in Italy, offering a €50,000 grant for one independent responsible-gambling project lasting 12 to 24 months. Applications from eligible Italian universities and research bodies are open until 16 November 2026, with proposals assessed by the foundation’s scientific committee.
Fondazione FAIR director general Stefano De Vita said prediction markets such as Polymarket can create risks similar to betting and called for protections for users. He pointed to limits on deposits, age checks, monitoring and exclusion procedures, while noting that the legal status of these platforms remains under debate.
