Flutter Entertainment has announced plans to cut up to 1,400 jobs as part of a restructuring across its UK and Ireland operations, according to the report. The cuts are expected to affect staff in Leeds and Dublin, as well as Portugal and Romania.
Flutter Entertainment said up to 1,400 jobs are at risk in its UK and Ireland division, following staff briefings on 20 October 2026. The division has about 9,000 employees; the company attributed the restructuring to higher betting and gaming duties and expects related costs of $80m-$90m in Q4 2026.
Neil Banbury became managing director of Sky Betting and Gaming on 29 September. Banbury told the outlet he intends to draw on parent company Flutter Entertainment's international reach.
The World Gaming and Betting Alliance has selected former European Gaming and Betting Association secretary general Maarten Haijer to lead the new global gambling body as director general.
