WGBA appoints former EGBA chief Maarten Haijer as director general
The World Gaming and Betting Alliance has selected former European Gaming and Betting Association secretary general Maarten Haijer to lead the new global gambling body as director general. The organisation is due to hold its formal launch in Geneva in November, alongside publication of its first report; Bet365, Entain, Flutter Entertainment and FDJ United are listed as members.
The new alliance creates a global industry body engaging with regulators and policymakers on gambling regulation.
