Five Tribes council seeks federal safeguards for prediction markets in the USA
The Inter-Tribal Council of the Five Civilized Tribes adopted a resolution urging Congress and federal regulators to require prediction markets and event contracts to comply with tribal, federal and state gaming laws. The council said platforms including Kalshi and Polymarket could undermine tribal-state gaming compacts if they operate outside those rules.
The requested safeguards could affect prediction-market operators’ obligations under gaming laws and tribal-state compacts.
