Fineff sues Sportsbet, Tabcorp and Entain over alleged betting losses
Gavin Fineff has filed a federal lawsuit against Sportsbet, Tabcorp and Entain, alleging the companies encouraged his betting without adequate checks. He seeks to recover losses he says exceeded AU$8 million; the Northern Territory Racing Commission previously fined Ladbrokes AU$78,540 and BetEasy AU$79,390 over their dealings with him.
The lawsuit and earlier regulatory penalties put betting firms’ handling of high-spending customers under scrutiny.
