FanDuel and DraftKings have ended their membership of the American Gaming Association, reportedly. The trade body said it expects both companies to maintain close ties; the reported departure follows a dispute over prediction markets.
The departures signal a split between two major sports betting operators and the US gaming trade body over prediction markets.

FanDuel and DraftKings have relinquished their American Gaming Association memberships as their businesses move towards prediction markets, the companies and the AGA said. The AGA said the departures took effect immediately; both companies said their plans no longer aligned with the association’s priorities in some areas.
FanDuel and DraftKings have withdrawn from the American Gaming Association (AGA), with the association confirming it accepted both requests effective immediately. The companies cited changes in strategic direction and business priorities as they pursue prediction markets, while the AGA said it expects to continue working with them.
The House Ways and Means Committee advanced a measure to restore the full federal deduction for gambling losses, Rep. Dina Titus said. The proposal was attached to H.R. 10357 and would reverse the 90% cap scheduled to take effect on 1 January 2027; House and Senate approval and the president’s signature would still be required.
Kalshi spent more than $1m on lobbying last year as casinos and prediction-market groups contested the legality of sports event contracts, the report says. It also paid Miller Strategies $430,000 and the Lincoln Policy Group $180,000; the report says casino and gambling-backed groups spent almost $50m on lobbying over the same period.
The American Gaming Association and Indian Gaming Association urged Congress to intervene over sports event contracts on online prediction markets in a letter sent on 12 January. The groups argued that the contracts resemble sports betting and threaten state authority, tribal sovereignty and consumer protections; they said existing federal rules prohibit such contracts.
