Fairfax supervisors oppose unrequested casino legislation in 5–4 vote
The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors voted 5–4 to oppose casino legislation unless the board requests it and specified conditions are met. The amendment, included in the county’s 2026 legislative package, calls for a statewide gaming commission and a tax revenue split that substantially benefits the county. The board had separately approved a letter setting out conditions for considering a casino referendum.
The board’s opposition and requested conditions could shape whether casino legislation advances in Fairfax County.
