Virginia lawmakers pass bill giving Fairfax County residents a Tysons casino vote
Virginia lawmakers passed SB756 on Saturday, allowing Fairfax County residents to vote on whether to permit a casino in Tysons; the bill now goes to Governor Abigail Spanberger. The House approved the revised measure 55-41 and the Senate passed it 25-13, after removing a provision for a temporary casino without voter approval.
The bill makes a local referendum necessary before the proposed Tysons casino can proceed.
