EveryMatrix appointed Jonas Groes, formerly a partner in EY’s Nordic consulting practice, as co-CEO, with the role due to begin on 1 January 2026. He will share the position with co-founder and CEO Ebbe Groes, his brother; the company said the arrangement would give Ebbe Groes more time for strategy.
The leadership change adds a co-CEO as EveryMatrix pursues its stated five-year growth targets.

Games Valley appointed Robert Dowling as advisory chief strategy officer, the company said. Dowling will advise on its commercial and growth strategy, including expansion into newly regulated markets and relationships with operators and studios.
EveryMatrix appointed Matias Montero as managing director for Latin America and said it is establishing a regional hub. Based in Buenos Aires, Montero will report to group commercial director Daniel Clark and lead the supplier’s regional growth efforts.

Clark also referred to work with Norsk Tipping, OPAP, Merkur Group and Betsson, and said EveryMatrix had announced an agreement with Sky City in New Zealand the previous year.
The partnership with Danish state-owned operator Danske Spil involved EveryMatrix taking a legacy platform first launched in 2012 into the modern era. Clark said the operator had found it hard to expand its footprint. Describing the outcome, he said the company was able to show it had the tools to help capture new players in that market.
Merkur said Cashpoint Denmark began operating as Merkur Bets on 22 September 2026, alongside a move to a new digital platform from EveryMatrix. The platform connects retail betting with online sports betting and an online casino, which the company says is being offered for the first time. Merkur said it plans to move its offerings in Belgium, Germany and Austria to the technology as well.
The Betting and Gaming Council said the UK’s planned increase in Machine Games Duty to 25% could put nearly 9,000 jobs at risk and leave almost 1,000 betting shops and casinos facing closure or serious risk of closure, citing EY estimates. The council also cited more than 600 betting shops closed or set to close since the previous year’s budget and said over 11,000 online and retail jobs had been lost or put at risk. Its chief executive, Grainne Hurst, criticised the tax increase.
