European Commission consults on rules for prediction platforms
The European Commission has opened a public consultation on a possible review of crypto-asset regulation, reportedly asking whether distributed-ledger prediction markets should fall under MiFID financial rules or MiCA crypto-asset rules. The consultation comes as Spain has ordered Kalshi and Polymarket blocked pending clarification of whether they breached gambling laws by operating without required authorisation.
