Erika Hilton asks federal prosecutors to bar betting promotion by sports commentators
Brazilian federal deputy Erika Hilton asked the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office on 23 June to seek a court order preventing sports commentators from promoting bets during sports broadcasts. Her request did not name commentators, broadcasters or betting companies, and argued that viewers may not distinguish analysis from advertising.
The request could affect how betting promotions are presented during sports broadcasts if the courts take it up.
