Buenos Aires prosecutors secure repair agreement with influencers over illegal betting promotion

Buenos Aires’s Specialised Gambling Prosecutor’s Office said 16 influencers agreed to take part in an awareness campaign after being charged over promotion of illegal online betting platforms. The agreement also requires them to complete a course on gambling harm and illegal gambling run by LOTBA; the office said it has more than 100 similar cases in progress and has blocked over 400 betting sites.

The agreement sets out consequences for influencers and signals continued prosecution of promotion linked to illegal betting platforms.
