Dutch court holds Lalabet operators liable to TOTO for unlicensed gambling
A Dutch court ruled that Lalabet’s operators and directors acted unlawfully by offering online gambling in the Netherlands without a licence and are liable for TOTO’s resulting losses, reportedly. The court will determine the damages in a separate proceeding; it also ordered trust company DECC to disclose specified information about the former operator’s corporate structure.
The ruling gives TOTO a route to seek damages from an unlicensed operator, although the amount remains undecided.
