DraftKings launches CFTC-regulated Predictions app in 38 US states

Deals & M&A

DraftKings announced the launch of its standalone Predictions app for event contracts in 38 US states, including Texas and California. The company said customers could initially trade sports and financial contracts, with culture and entertainment markets planned for later. The product follows DraftKings’ October acquisition of Railbird Technologies and its CFTC-designated subsidiary, Railbird Exchange.

The app gives DraftKings a presence in event-contract markets across states where its sportsbook is not available.

DraftKings expands prediction-markets strategy with its own contracts platform

DraftKings launched its DraftKings Predictions app in December 2025 and introduced its DKeX contracts market on 26 June 2026, according to the report. The Boston-based company, listed on Nasdaq, operates through the independent group DraftKings Inc., which also owns Golden Nugget Online Gaming, acquired in 2022, and the digital lottery platform Jackpocket. Golden Nugget Online Gaming forms part of the group's online casino business, while the physical Golden Nugget casinos were excluded from that acquisition.
