DR Congo plans central monitoring platform for gambling operators
The Democratic Republic of Congo is developing a gambling monitoring platform as authorities seek closer oversight of operators, finance ministry official Didier Bobwa said at a briefing in Kinshasa on 30 May. The market was estimated to generate nearly $1.7 billion in annual iGaming revenue, while the state reportedly collected around $1 million in taxes. The government is also working on a framework to modernise regulation and strengthen fiscal controls.
Central monitoring could change operator reporting and tax oversight in a market where reported collections lag estimated revenue.
