Dominican Republic requires licences for cruise ship casinos in its waters
The Dominican Republic government introduced Resolution 164-2026 requiring cruise ships offering casino games in the country’s waters to obtain a licence, according to the Ministry of Finance and Economy. Fees are 1 million Dominican pesos for ships carrying 2,000 to 3,499 passengers and 1.5 million pesos for vessels with capacity of at least 3,500; operators must also implement anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorist-financing controls.
Cruise operators offering casino games must obtain a licence and meet specified financial and compliance obligations.
