Spain's DGOJ met the addiction-support network UNAD to assess proposals submitted in the public consultation on reform of Law 13/2011 on gambling regulation. The DGOJ said the meetings are intended to gather further detail on the proposals and to maintain open dialogue with the parties involved before it drafts the new regulatory text.
In its proposal, UNAD asked that the changes focus on the protection of minors, young people and vulnerable groups. The organisation also seeks to strengthen prevention, early detection and protection for self-excluded players.
The DGOJ has also met the Federación Española de Jugadores de Azar Rehabilitados (FEJAR), the Ilustre Colegio de la Abogacía de Barcelona and the Sociedad Española de Salud Pública y Administración Sanitaria. The round of meetings began in July with a meeting between the DGOJ and Jdigital, the Spanish digital gambling association.
The public consultation was opened by the DGOJ in May and collected proposals from citizens, organisations and industry participants on the main challenges the future reform should address.
