DC Lottery switches draw systems after repeat-number coding error

Regulation

Source: DC Office of Lottery and Gaming (DC)

DC Lottery said a vendor configuration issue prevented its DC 3, DC 4 and DC 5 machines from drawing repeat numbers. The issue began on 31 March 2026 during recertification by Smartplay International; the lottery said it would use a backup system for the 22 April drawings while the vendor tested a fix. Ticket holders for affected mid-day and evening drawings from 31 March to 21 April should retain their tickets pending further information.

The system change and ticket guidance affect lottery operations and players awaiting instructions on affected draws.
