CUOASEC submits online gambling regulation bill to Uruguay’s executive

Regulation

Uruguay’s casino operators’ association CUOASEC submitted a bill to the executive branch proposing state authorisation and regulatory oversight for online gambling, the association said. The proposal would reserve online casino licences for companies already authorised to operate physical casinos; the executive branch is to consider the submission, with no timetable specified.

The proposal could define which operators may enter Uruguay’s online casino market and under what conditions.
