CJEU rules Google may be liable for YouTube gambling videos in Italy
The Court of Justice of the European Union ruled that Google may be liable for gambling videos uploaded by a YouTube creator with whom it had a commercial partnership. The case concerns a €750,000 fine imposed in Italy; the Italian administrative court will resume proceedings and issue a final ruling using the CJEU’s interpretation.
The ruling may affect platforms’ liability when they review creators before entering commercial partnerships.
