Results1 min read

In brief

  • City of Dreams Sri Lanka recorded EBITDA of LKR340m in the second quarter of the 2026/27 financial year.
  • It compares with an EBITDA loss of LKR64m a year earlier.

In the 2nd quarter of the 2026/27 financial year, City of Dreams Sri Lanka recorded positive EBITDA of LKR340 million (US$1.02 million). That reversed a LKR64 million EBITDA loss from the same period a year earlier. Hotel occupancy was higher and casino activity increased, which supported the integrated resort while it continued to scale up operations.

John Keells Holdings owns the resort, which reported a smaller pre-tax loss for the quarter ended 30 September. The complex brings together the Cinnamon Life and Nuwa hotels, a casino and a shopping mall. Nuwa, along with the casino and shopping mall, began operating in August 2025.

Melco Resorts & Entertainment operates the casino. In the quarter, JKH booked fixed rental income from the gaming operation. A variable rent component also exists, though it is payable only if the casino reaches an agreed performance threshold.
