Cirsa reported operating profit of €195m in the third quarter of 2026, up 6.8% on the same period last year. Revenue rose 12% to €628m ($705m). The Spanish gaming group said operating profit would have been €203m, up 11.1% year on year, excluding costs linked to its proposed merger with Italian operator Lottomatica.

Within the group, online gaming and sports betting expanded most quickly. Amounts wagered rose 43.4% in the quarter, and net revenue rose 19%. Deposits rose 39.4%, which points to greater customer activity. No figures were given on how much of the growth in wagers and deposits became profit.

An extraordinary shareholders' meeting in Terrassa on 30 November will advance the proposed merger with Lottomatica. The proposed merger was announced by the two companies in September. They stressed that the result would be the world's second-largest listed operator in gaming and sports betting. When the announcement was made, Cirsa chief executive Antonio Hostench explained that growth would certainly follow from the merger.

The deal is structured as an EU cross-border merger in which Lottomatica takes over Cirsa and remains the surviving entity. The merged company will have listings on stock exchanges in both Spain and Italy. Combining all available markets, including Portugal, Mexico and Colombia, is expected to give the group an addressable market of up to €34 billion.
