Churchill Downs puts nine gaming properties up for sale
Churchill Downs plans to sell nine gaming properties in the US after completing a review of its wholly owned assets, CEO Bill Carstanjen said. The company expects to pursue individual sales or small bundles; it does not plan to sell its historical racing machine properties in Kentucky, Virginia or New Hampshire. Carstanjen said proceeds would go towards reducing leverage, selected investment and share repurchases.
Potential sales could change ownership of gaming properties across nine US states and affect Churchill Downs’ asset portfolio.
