Chilean authorities dismantle network operating at least 26 illegal casinos
Chilean authorities said they dismantled a network operating at least 26 illegal casinos in the Metropolitan Region and arrested 37 people. Four detainees were placed in pre-trial detention; authorities said the operation generated more than US$70,000 a day, and investigators are examining possible money laundering, smuggling and illegal weapons offences.
The operation targets illegal gambling sites and associated suspected organised-crime offences in Chile.
