Casper City Council pauses new gaming development for 180 days

Regulation

Casper City Council approved a 180-day moratorium on new simulcasting and gaming development in Wyoming after Senate File 45 took effect on 1 July, according to the report. The law requires local approval before the state can issue or renew permits for future historic horse racing locations. The pause does not affect eight existing Casper locations, which may continue operating but cannot expand.

Operators considering new Casper facilities face a temporary development pause while city staff review zoning and spacing rules.
