Enforcement & compliance

Cardiff Crown Court sentenced Noor Rassam and Panayiotis Karayiannis on 2 October after they admitted possessing and transferring criminal property linked to poker operations in Cardiff. Each received a three-year prison term suspended for three years; investigators identified about £384,000 in third-party payments between them from August 2022 to February 2024.

The case illustrates criminal enforcement against commercial poker operations running without gambling authorisation.
