Canary Islands government sends gambling decree to consultative council

Regulation

The Canary Islands government has referred its draft decree on gambling planning and related rules to the Consultative Council for an opinion, following a favourable parliamentary resolution. The proposal would require gaming halls to operate an admissions service barring minors from gambling areas, set self-exclusion registrations indefinitely with possible cancellation after six months, and establish an initial five-year planning period that could be extended by another five years.

Gaming halls would need admissions controls, while the decree would revise planning and self-exclusion rules across the Canary Islands.
