The Canary Islands has put forward a draft regulation for in-person bingo that would change how halls operate, according to the proposal. The text has not received final approval, so the measures it sets out are not yet in force.
The draft includes more flexibility in the distribution of machines, the addition of new payment methods and the option to expand gaming positions to as many as 30 at certain establishments. It is intended to adapt the operation of bingo halls to new technologies and to the sector's operating needs.
Grupo Oper said it maintains its commitment to modernising in-person bingo, citing Belingo, its electronic bingo system developed in the Canary Islands. The company said technological development is a tool to support the sector's evolution and to meet the needs of operators and customers.
According to the proposal, final approval of the rule would establish the scope of the changes and their implications for bingo halls in the archipelago.
