Campania regional administrative court awards betting hall operator €36,366

Regulation

The Campania Regional Administrative Court ordered Italy’s Interior Ministry and Caserta municipality to pay a betting hall operator €36,366 in damages. The court said the operator had incurred costs relying on a licence later annulled after a municipal inspection found a sensitive site less than 250 metres away; it excluded claims for lost earnings and reputational damage.

The ruling assigns public authorities liability for costs incurred in reliance on an initially granted betting licence.
