Brazilian committee advances bill restricting gambling ads featuring minors
A Chamber of Deputies committee approved a substitute bill to prohibit minors from appearing in advertising for lotteries and betting sites in Brazil. The proposal would make promotions aimed at underage audiences an administrative offence, with fines ranging from BRL 3,000 to BRL 10,000 and higher penalties for repeat or aggravated violations; it can proceed to the next stage.
If enacted, the proposal would expose operators and advertising participants to fines for campaigns involving minors.
