Brazil sets 5 October deadline for bettors to withdraw R$1.4bn
Brazil’s finance minister, Dario Durigan, said bettors had about R$1.4 billion in balances available for withdrawal from betting platforms, with direct claims due by 5 October. The Finance Ministry said about R$652 million had been withdrawn from a previous R$2.1 billion balance; banks are due to return remaining funds from 9 to 14 October.
Operators and payment providers face a withdrawal deadline and a defined timetable for returning remaining customer balances.
