Brazil’s SUS reports 883 online gambling mental-health consultations

Regulation

Brazil’s Unified Health System (SUS) provided 883 virtual mental-health consultations for people with online betting dependence between 3 March and 18 May this year, reportedly. The average was 12 consultations a day, and patients can receive up to 13 sessions per treatment cycle; the service is run with Hospital Sírio-Libanês.

The reported treatment capacity and session limit provide operators and policymakers with evidence of support services for gambling-related harm.
