Brazil’s SPA continues preliminary review of prediction markets
Brazil’s Secretariat of Prizes and Betting said on 9 March that it is conducting preliminary studies on prediction markets and has not formally authorised any Brazilian companies to operate in the segment. The ministry said further regulatory assessments depend on those studies and may involve coordination with the securities regulator, CVM.
The review leaves operators and platforms without formal Brazilian authorisation for this market, according to the ministry.
