Brazil’s Secretariat of Prizes and Betting authorised Bet.Bet Soluções Tecnológicas S.A. to change its corporate name to Open Gaming S.A., according to the report. The company will continue operating the Bet.Bet and Donaldbet brands.
The authorisation changes the company’s legal name while its two named betting brands continue operating.

A Brazilian congressional external committee will hold a public hearing on illegal online betting on 11 August, following a request by deputy Julio Lopes. The hearing will examine differing estimates: the federal government says up to 70% of bets are in the regulated market, while industry groups estimate illegal platforms account for about half of market activity.
Brazil’s Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA) issued rules barring beneficiaries of the FIES debt renegotiation programme from opening or using fixed-odds betting accounts, according to the report. Operators must check the SIGAP database at account registration and the first login each day; the rules also set procedures for notification, account suspension, returning funds and reviewing existing accounts. The report says operators have 10 days to implement the procedures and 15 days to check existing customers.
Brazil’s Senate Human Rights Committee scheduled a public hearing for 2 July on online gambling’s social, economic and public health effects. The committee agenda included household debt, mental health, advertising and market regulation; no licensed betting company or industry organisation was among the invited guests, according to the report.
Federal representative Erika Hilton asked Brazil’s Federal Public Ministry (MPF) to seek legal action suspending betting advertisements by commentators during match broadcasts. Hilton argued that such promotions blur sports analysis and encouragement to spend money; the MPF is to assess the request. The Secretariat of Prizes and Betting said advertising by licensed operators is subject to rules intended to protect consumers and distinguish authorised platforms.
Brazil’s Senate Human Rights Committee approved an invitation on 10 June for Finance Minister Dario Durigan to discuss authorisation, regulation and oversight of fixed-odds betting. The committee also approved an invitation to the Finance Ministry’s Secretary of Prizes and Betting, Daniele Correa Cardoso; the requests cover addiction prevention, vulnerable groups, advertising oversight and operator authorisation criteria.
