Brazil’s Federal Revenue Service reported that online betting companies paid about R$5.8bn in taxes between January and May 2026. The total was 85% above the R$3.1bn collected in the same period a year earlier; May receipts were R$1.3bn, down from R$1.4bn in May 2025.

That group represented 44% of respondents, making the combined issue about 7% of the full sample; the poll did not separate betting from social-media regulation. The survey interviewed 2,004 people from 30 October to 2 November.
