Regulation

Brazil’s Secretariat of Prizes and Betting said cooperation with the National Telecommunications Agency led to about 25,000 illegal betting and gaming sites being blocked during 2025. The secretariat also reported 132 administrative proceedings, 324 influencer profiles removed and 550 bank accounts closed after reports involving 1,687 players. Licensed operators generated $7 billion in gross gaming revenue and paid $1.9 billion in taxes, while the national self-exclusion scheme received 217,000 requests in its first 40 days.

The figures show Brazil’s enforcement activity alongside licensed-market revenue, taxes and self-exclusion requests.
