Brazil identifies 506 suspected unauthorised betting domains after prohibition

Enforcement & compliance

Brazilian authorities identified 506 domains suspected of offering irregular betting after a provisional measure prohibited fixed-odds betting and online games, the report said. Ciberlab also found about 1,960 Google advertisements linked to seven domains between 25 and 27 September, but could not establish whether all breached the prohibition; existing adverts had until 5 October to be removed.

Operators and advertising platforms face scrutiny over how the prohibition applies to existing and new promotions.
