Brazil finance minister says no decision has been made on betting restrictions
Brazilian Finance Minister Dario Durigan said on 17 September that the government had made no decision on banning or imposing stricter restrictions on betting. He said discussions focused on the cost of living and household income, citing R$62bn flowing from families to betting. The report said that figure does not represent industry gross gaming revenue and listed different reported GGR figures for 2025 and the first half of 2026.
Operators face uncertainty over possible policy changes, while the minister’s cited figure is disputed as a measure of industry GGR.
